The Residential Systems Designer will be responsible for designing and specifying integrated home automation solutions, including security systems, HVAC controls, motorized window treatments, smart lighting, shading, home theater systems, and distributed audio/video. Working closely with clients, builders, architects, and internal project teams, this role ensures that each system design meets project requirements, budget, and industry standards.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Develop and produce detailed system designs, drawings, and blueprints for residential automation projects
  • Specify equipment and technology solutions across security, HVAC, lighting, AV, shades, and control systems
  • Collaborate with sales, project managers, and installation teams to ensure designs are accurate and executable
  • Participate in design meetings with homeowners, architects, and builders to align on scope and functionality
  • Maintain knowledge of emerging technologies in home automation and make recommendations for system improvements
  • Provide technical support during installation and commissioning as needed
  • Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and best practices
  • Chance to work with clients across New Jersey, Tampa, Florida, and Las Vegas, Nevada 
What You Bring to the Team
  • 3+ years of experience in residential systems design, AV design, or related field
  • Proficiency with CAD, Visio, or similar design/drafting tools
  • Strong knowledge of integrated home technologies, including AV, lighting control, HVAC, shading, and security systems
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally and directly with clients
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment

This is a remote position.

Compensation: $85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
